The Railway Children by Mike Kenny

The Railway Children - based on the novel by Edith Nesbit

Theatre by the Lake has a successful children's book Christmas tradition. This year they are staging "The Railway Children". Produced by Mike Kenny and based on the classic story by Edith Nesbit. The story is about childhood, families and growing up.

Called the railway children, due to the children's adventure for the Summer starting by the railway, where the new home is located. This is after they were forced to leave London, when their father has to go away unexpectedly, and so begins the play.

Runs from the 30th November to the 19th January.

Price: £24.50 but pre-book and get £10 off.

Christmas Lights in Market Square - Keswick

Moot Hall makes a great site for attaching Christmas Lights - Keswick

Finally I have managed to get a picture of the Christmas Lights in Market Square in Keswick. Plagued by drizzle on the lens over the past few weeks, causing the pictures to blur, scaffolding or the market tents obstructing the views, today was my lucky day as I was able to get the picture on a dry evening with minimal obstructions.

This year Keswick has put more effort into their lights, not that they haven't in the past, but in the past the lights had been removed for days on end whilst trying to replace bulbs that blew, leaving gaps which spoilt the effect. Well done.

WHITE SNOW CAPPED FELLS

The past few days have seen the temperatures drop during the night which has resulted in snow capped fells all around the Lake District.

Here are a few pictures for you to see the beautiful effect this has on the landscape at the moment. It would appear that even the rain cannnot melt this snow and every morning there is a bit more coverage.

Can you guess which fells these are?
